The men have once again decided what a woman can do with her body

Our conservative male president appointed more conservative male justices to our Supreme Court last year Our Supreme Court - Eight men and only one womanand now that court has decided against a certain type of abortion – a type that is sometimes the safest for the woman.

According to a Washington Post article “Six federal courts have said the law that was in focus Wednesday is an impermissible restriction on a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion.” Then again, when has this administration cared about the Constitution? All it cares about is imposing its conservative agenda on the rest of us.

The Supreme Court now has eight men and only one woman, while women make up slightly more than half of this nation’s population. Yet our male dominated society has once again told us what we can do with our own bodies. I am so pissed.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the sole woman on the Supreme Court, wrote in dissent and said today’s ruling is alarming. The Washington Post reported that Ginsburg said the ruling “refuses to take … seriously” previous Supreme Court decisions on abortion. “Instead, the court shields women by denying them any choice in the matter. This way of protecting women recalls ancient notions about women’s place in society and under the Constitution — ideas that have long since been discredited.”

In typical cowardly fashion, this very important portion of Bush’s agenda was hidden behind a story of great impact – the shooting at Virginia Tech – and women will barely even notice they have once again been blind-sided by the patriarchal system.

    That picture is quite disturbing.

This is more then disturbing. It’s an outrage. However, outrage and being pissed can only go so far. Where are the women’s groups protesting this? Why has the National Organization for Women been relatively silent in the mainstream media? Why is nothing being done to stop it?

This is the single most important issue in our country. Taking rights away from 52% of the population and no one is standing up and screaming!

If men could get pregnant abortion would be a sacrament.

Women can have an abortion for health reason. That’s Roe v. Wade. It is when there is no health issue on the part of the mother that the conservative court would like to take the welfare of the unborn to heart and permissively prohibits abortion. Or during trimester pregnancy, where the fetus is viable that aborton cannot be had because the state has a right to protect unborn children.

If women does not want to entangle themselves with the lawon abortion, all they have to do is to refuse to get laid, or if they cannot, then they must have the common decency of using contraceptive or ask their partners to use condoms, rather than complain about the fucking law so they can fuck with reckless abandon.
